Founder, President and CEO

Mr. Smith, Veritas' Founder, President and CEO, has a proven and successful track record within both sales management and technical areas of the healthcare marketplace, specifically, orthopedics, endoscopy, wound management, and pharmaceutical distribution. 

Mr. Smith devoted over two (2) years to Orlando Regional Medical Center as their Program Director for Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and The Congestive Heart Failure Center. Thereafter, he focused two (2) years on territory sales management and development for such recognized corporations as Superior Pharmaceuticals, Surgical Dynamics (Tyco, Inc.) and Exogen (J&J Smith-Nephew, Inc.). 

In August, 2001, Mr. Smith went on to serve as Pharmco’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing where he was instrumental in the development and execution of Pharmco’s sales and marketing strategy for each distribution site (Cincinnati, OH – Largo, FL – St. Louis, MO - Kansas City, MO and Redlands, CA), including its sales department’s centralized data management system, which promoted sales in excess of $4.5 million within three (3) years.  Pharmco was one of the nations largest and fastest growing independent LTC pharmacy providers, serving more than 19,000 residents in 180 facilities in five states. Pharmco was later sold to Omnicare, Inc. in August 2004.

After Omnicare’s acquisition of Pharmco, Mr. Smith transitioned away from the corporate absorbtion and later that month incorporated Veritas LTC, Inc. (“Veritas”) (VER-i-tahs, Latin for truth) in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

Today, Veritas has gone on to serve more than 523 SNF's in 36 states and has documented financial recoveries due to pharmacy billing overcharges and payer status errors, and $millions more in savings due to pharmacy contract re/negotiations.

Mr. Smith had a four (4) year D1 baseball scholarship from Morehead State University (Kentucky) and graduated with a B.S. in Cardiovascular Physiology and Sports Medicine in 1997.
